The Two-Days Walk is far more than just a walk alone and there are 8 reasons for this.
1. Walking improves your health
Various studies prove it: walking improves your health and is accessible to everyone. You can do it together or (more or less) alone; it reduces stress but is actually just fun!
Regular walking ensures a good spirit in a healthy body.
2. A wonderful track
What is the best way to enjoy the surroundings: walking of course!
With the car, you just glide past all the beautiful scenery. With a bicycle, it is even sometimes too fast to catch up. And on some “slow roads” the only way you can go is on foot!
Blankenberge and the surrounding area is just wonderful for walking. Blankenberge has much more to offer than “beach with shells“. The dunes, the polders, the small woods along the dunes, the polder villages along the tracks, …
3. Ambience from start to finish
The Two-Days Walk immerses you in ambience from the start till finish.
The local MC’s put you right on track with the necessary (marching) music.
In Zuienkerke, on Saturdays, you’ll enjoy a wonderful folk fair with performances and crafts and a flea market and …
Just before the end, the already legendary “Feestpark” welcomes you with ambience for young and old. And at the Grote Markt, it never stops …
4. You will not walk empty handed
You will receive tasty and useful goods from start to finish. Gingerbread, speculoos, beer, sports drink, water, fruit, sandwich with Paschka and a freshly baked fish at the finish.
And… a special eco-present for the jubilee edition that will often come in handy later (during the walk and after) …
5. A real challenge:
the 50 KM jubilee walk
Geef toe, wat is 50KM voor een beetje geoefende wandelaar. Op die manier geraak je ten minsten nog een keer tot in het verre Klemskerke, dit jaar het boegbeeld van de badge en medaille.
6. Walking a double marathon is not that bad either
Walk the double marathon (42KM on Saturday and Sunday) and you’ll have something to scrap off your bucket list. And if it wasn’t on your bucket list yet, then maybe this is the moment!
7. You can also walk 7, 15 or 24KM
If the 50KM or the double marathon (2 x 42KM) is a bit too much for you, no worries. You can also find ‘your’ distances (both Saturday and Sunday).
The 7 and 15 KM tracks are also ideal to be done with prams or other “wheels”.
8. The youth has to move on!
It is the ideal moment to make the tracks (proverbial) unsafe with other youth movements and try to be the largest / happiest / loudest / most enthusiastic /… group.
And in the end, test the resilience of the bouncy castles in the “Feestpark” of course!
